Baby Ice drops début single
Dancer Baby Ice has added recording artiste to his resume following the release of his debut single, Simple As Yu Seet.
The track, produced by Time Unit Music's Neutron Obliv, centres around his dance move that bears the same name. Baby Ice said the song has been getting positive feedback since its release last Monday on all major digital platforms.
"The feedback has been surprisingly good," Baby Ice told THE WEEKEND STAR. "A lot of friends and family didn't know that I had the ability to sing or deejay, so it was a shocker to them. The track has an amazing sound and vibe, so I'm also getting a lot of encouragement to do more music and push harder."
He added, "On social media, the feedback has been improving with more promotion about the track. I'm seeing persons reposting it in their Instagram Story a lot. Even Maestro Don (deejay), a close friend for years, link me and gave me some encouraging feedback about the track as well."
Baby Ice isn't entirely new to recording music. He was part of Sanjay's song Plucky in 2018, for which he also created the dance. Simple As Yu Seet stands as his first solo recording and he kept it real about his expectations.
"My expectations are the unexpected, to be honest, because it's my first track, so it's a matter of trial and error [where] promotion of the song is concerned," he said. "I have persons doing the dance move, so...this being my first time in this part of the entertainment industry, it's a learning [process]. I'm hoping, however, to get airplay on the radio; that would be a nice accomplishment to hear my song playing on the radio. I'm looking to do a music video soon and see where it goes from there."
He's also making use of the popular social-media platform TikTok, where he has been building his brand as an actor.
"The song is also on TikTok, which was also surprising for me, but it's to give a greater push for the track and dance move. I'm looking to start a 'Simple As Yu Seet' challenge on TikTok and Instagram so persons can dance to the track and do the move and have a vibe, so I'm hoping to get some positive feedback from there as well," he said.
