A St Elizabeth farmer is now facing serious charges after he was accused of pulling a gun on another man during a heated late night dispute in the parish last year.

The accused is 35 year old Canigga Campbell of Slipe district, St Elizabeth.

According to the police, the incident unfolded about 2:00 a.m. on August 22, 2025, when Campbell and another man reportedly became involved in an argument.

During the dispute, investigators say Campbell allegedly removed a handgun from his waistband and pointed it at the man, causing fear and panic.

A report was later made to the police, which triggered an investigation into the matter.

Following months of inquiries, detectives applied for and were granted a warrant for Campbell's arrest. He was taken into custody on Saturday, February 7.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the police said Campbell was charged with assault at common law and possession of a prohibited weapon.

The matter remains under investigation.
