One of Dunbeholden's brightest youth prospects, Tajay Dias, has made a major step in his career as the 16-year-old defender recently secured a move to Surinamese club SV Transvaal for the remainder of the season.

Dias, who represented Jose Marti Technical High for the past two seasons in the ISSA Manning Cup competition, is considered one of the emerging talents in Dunbeholden's youth set-up.

He has since made his debut with SV Transvaal U23 team, with the aim of securing senior team minutes before the end of the season.

SV Transvaal are one of the most successful clubs in Suriname, having won 19 national titles, and finished fourth in last season's Suriname Major League.

Aubyn Henry, Dunbeholden club executive, said the opportunity is a major step for Dias, who has been nurtured at the St Catherine-based club.

Dias is also represented by Kickers Academy who, Henry explained, played a key role in the move.

Dias is the third player from Kickers Academy to make the move to SV Transvaal, following in the footsteps of Jardel Williams and Damek Rennie.

Henry explained that Dias's move to Suriname was a collaborative effort between the player, Dunbeholden and Kickers Academy.

"Tajay's journey shows what can happen when everyone works together with the player's future as the priority. From the youth level, he demonstrated the mindset, discipline, and commitment needed to progress. This opportunity is a reward for that dedication," said Dunbeholden club executive Aubyn Henry.

Henry is hopeful more young talents will be able to secure professional moves early in their careers.

He said this can only be done through structured guidance from the clubs in ensuring players are given the correct platforms to develop their skills.

"Talent is only one part of the equation. Players need proper management, career planning, and the right timing when opportunities arise. Partnerships like this help ensure young footballers are positioned to succeed."
