Tallawahs continue CPL party
The sixth edition of the 2018 Caribbean Premier League T/20 tournament ended with a bang! The Party Stand was louder than Tuesday, especially as patrons continued to comically chant and shout insults at the players of the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, not to mention former Jamaica Tallawahs player Chris Gayle.
DJ Sanjay played around with dancehall tunes like Dem Sell We Out by Popcaan and Vybz Kartel’s 2011 track Best Of Them that seemed to throw off Gayle.
Meanwhile, it was obvious that patrons within the stand still expected a surprise performance from a dancehall or reggae artiste.
Fabian McKenzie told THE STAR that his friends encouraged him to come out for a night of entertainment, but was disappointed with the way it turned out on that part.
“Despite the lack of live entertainment, it was entertaining to watch my fellow Jamaicans mek trouble by using music to throw words at the opponents,” said McKenzie.
While no live performances were promised, D’Yani, singer and songwriter of the theme song, Tallawahs Dreamers, gave a short half-time performance of the track.
D’Yani told THE STAR that he can only hope it is a feel-good track that the Jamaica Tallawahs will use for motivation for the rest of the tournament.
