Eleven years ago, Nadera gained traction as a singjay before going off the radar. Now, she's back as SassyDiva to claim her spot.

The Canadian-based entertainer officially returned to the music scene six months ago with Jiggle Jiggle, and is now working on her first release for 2022, Buzz.

"The single itself is just letting them know who SassyDiva is, what my musical flair is like, and basically letting them know I'm here to stay and I'll be leaving my mark," she told THE STAR.

She said she'll be coming to Jamaica next month to record the song and shoot the music video, all slated for release in May.

"I have a lot of expectations for it," SassyDiva said. "The lyrical content of the song itself, I know, will make me gain a lot of traction. Just the delivery itself, it's always put across as confident, which is always a plus, so I'm expecting it to do really well."

SassyDiva was one to watch on the Canadian reggae music scene years ago when she released songs like Cheater's Loss and Tit 4 Tat. Also known as a model and actress, she said she stepped away from music to give herself more options.

"I felt like it's also good to have that backup education, so I decided to go back to get my degree," she shared.

"First, I went and got my paralegal diploma, and then I went back and got my psychology degree and some nursing [certification]. I feel like having extra tools; and education not only gives you a certain kind of leverage, but also street experience and educational experience, too, so that's what I did."

Since her return, she's also released the single CEO, which she said has given her some visibility and bookings.

"Before, it was mostly Jamaicans that were my fanbase, and then Canada caught on. So now, it's just getting myself out here in Canada and doing as much promotion as I'm doing in Jamaica, to get back those audiences who kinda forget about who SassyDiva was and wondering where I was."
