Waterhouse's defeat to Portmore United in the 2018 Red Stripe Premier League (RSPL) final, was the third successive final's defeat for the Drewsland-based club's midfield hard man, Keithy Simpson.

Simpson, who currently resides in Trinidad with his wife and child, told STAR Sports that he lost two finals with San Juan Jabloteh last year, before he moved to the Maldives with Sealife for a brief spell, where he also lost a final.

Then on Monday for the RSPL title, Simpson's team, Waterhouse FC, went down to Portmore on penalties to register his fourth final's defeat in just over four-and-a-half months.

"This is the fourth final I am losing in about four-and-a-half months," the former Portmore and Tivoli midfielder told the Gleaner after Monday night's final.

"This one really have mi right now. All I want to do is go home and sleep it away," he continued.

"I lost two finals last year in Trinidad. Then I went to the Maldives and lost in that final. Now I came to Waterhouse and I lose another final. But this is football, you have to keep on trying till you get it. Now we have to try help our team mates recover from the loss and try to come back and be better next season," he said.

The former national under-17 midfielder also thought his team was unlucky on the night as Waterhouse dominated the game after the first half, creating numerous chances, which they failed to capitalise on.

"For most of the first-half we played well, we stuck to the task, we defended well. Second half we came out and played to instructions and did what we had to create a lot of chances but didn't put them away and that's what cost us.

"It went to penalties and in penalties you can win and you can lose, and that's what happened. The only thing we didn't do was capitalised on our chances and that's what hurt us.
