Duanvale have no fear for Falmouth
Despite going down 4-0 to Falmouth United in the midseason final earlier this year, Willis Brown, coach of Duanvale, is convinced his team can beat Falmouth in Sunday's final of the Grandeur Transportation Services/MonyMusk Rum Trelawny FA Major League.
"In terms of squad, we didn't have that in the midseason final. Most of those who played today were out injured for that game. However, now, we have key players coming in at the right time," said Brown.
Duanvale on Sunday registered a 4-1 win over Friendship FC in the second match of the double-header at the Elleston Wakeland Centre to advance to the final 7-3 on aggregate.
Anandi Rowe (with a double strike), Marvin Bent (45th) and Oshane Brown (68th) scored for Duanvale.
Jamiel Hindes scored the consolation for Friendship in the 71st minute from the penalty spot.
UNBEATEN RUN
In the first game of Sunday's double-header, Antonio Robert's 44th-minute strike helped his team maintain their unbeaten run with a 1-0 victory over Coopers Pen FC to see them advancing 4-1 on aggregate.
Dr Dean Weatherly, coach of Falmouth, was not happy with the scoreline.
"I'm not so pleased with the scoreline because we need to convert our chances. We kept Coopers Pen in the game, that could give them a light at the end of the tunnel. So, going into the finals, we definitely have to work on the finishing aspect of our game because we don't want it to come to haunt us," said Weatherly.
