Bennett, Mason advance to 110m hurdles final; Prince misses out

Two of Jamaica's three sprint hurdlers will compete in the final of the men's 110-metre hurdles at the Tokyo World Athletics Championships after the end of the semifinal round.

Orlando Bennett set the pace and advanced from heat one, taking the win in 13.27 seconds in a tightly contested semifinal.

The national champion recovered well from a slow start to power through the field and out-dip his opponents at the line.

Demario Prince followed in heat two and finished third, just outside the automatic spots.

His time of 13.22 was not enough as he was edged out of a non-automatic spot by two thousandths of a second.

World champs debutant Tyler Mason was dominant in heat three, taking the win in 13.12s.

The final is set for later today at 8:20 a.m. Jamaica time.
