Coaches expressed similar sentiments, but for a different reason after Montego Bay United scored a last-gasp equaliser to rescue a 1-1 draw with Molynes United in their Jamaica Premier League football match at Constant Spring Complex on Wednesday.

Malachi Sterling's added-time goal saved leaders Montego Bay United from a second straight defeat, but despite the let-off, head coach Xavier Gilbert was very disappointed with the result, saying his team squandered too many chances.

"We just failed to convert," the MoBay team's coach said. "We know it's a tough period for everybody. They are fighting to stay in the league. So we knew it was going to be tough.

"But we got some good opportunities and we have to make them count, especially after coming off a loss and knowing how important three points would have been and not securing it. I am disappointed," he commented.

Nicholas Nelson had given Molynes United the lead by scoring from the penalty spot in the 62nd minute, but Sterling's late strike denied the relegation strugglers three valuable points.

"We conceded again towards the back end of the game," the team's head coach, Jermaine Thomas, said. "We could have dealt with the ball a little bit better, but I thought enough pressure wasn't on it,"

Molynes United took the lead after Marlon Pennicooke was brought down by goalkeeper Davinnie Burton in the area and a penalty was awarded. Nelson converted from the spot.

Finding themselves behind, the visitors stepped up the pressure and got the equalising goal in time added when Sterling's attempted cross flew into the far corner of the goal without a touch.

Thomas says his team will do well if they continue putting in like performances.

"Looking back at the performances over the last two weeks, I am thinking that once we can continue playing like this, it can be good going forward," he said.

MoBay United (58 points) stay atop the table, five points clear of Racing United, who drew 2-2 with Harbour View. Molynes (26 points) remain second from bottom, six more than Spanish Town Police. Harbour View have 28 points.

In the day's other game, Chapelton Maroons scored their third win in four games, beating Tivoli Gardens FC 1-0 to move to 41 points, one adrift of sixth-place Cavalier Soccer Club, the defending champions. Tivoli are 10th on 35 points.

League action continues today with three matches. In the day's feature match, fourth-place Portmore United FC (48) will host in-form Waterhouse FC (46) at Ferdi Neita Park at 3:30 p.m.

Also at 3:30, Treasure Beach FC, in 11th on 29 points, will host eighth-place Arnett Gardens FC (38) at St Elizabeth Technical High School Sports Complex, while Cavalier will host Dunbeholden FC, ninth on 35 points, in the day's other match, at 4 p.m. at Sabina Park.
